DAMN THIS PLACE IS GOOD! I got a Portuguese omelette and it was fabulous. I never order omelettes and I just had to try it here. Linguica, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese all folded expertly into a great omelette. Home fries were passable, the toast was toast and the hot chocolate was sooooo good! We went on a crappy rainy tuesday morning and the place was jumping. I think they try to segregate the kids and adults..at least they sat us on a side without any kids for about 1/2 our breakfast and then lots of families arrived, the place was so crowded! Service was good and they had $24.00 pitchers of mimosas on the menu, I really wanted it all for myself but my fiancé told me just to get the orange juice as it was 8am, he was right, I probably wouldn't have been too fun after a whole pitcher of mimosas for myself but there's always next time! Prices were great and so were my finance's pancakes. Try out the Pancake Man!

Meh. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices are fairly cheap, but the food is just okay. My wife, daughter, and I opted for pancakes (sort of a given, right?) and left disappointed. My peanut butter cup offering was good, but light on the chocolate. My wife's apple cinnamon cakes were just awful. The sauce tasted almost like onions. I highly recommend avoiding these. So, ya know, fine, but we won't be back anytime soon.

I had the cinful pancakes and my husband had the wild blueberry. It was home cooking. The pancake were perfect size, everything was piping hot when it came out, tasted fresh, bacon was well cooked, and the coffee was good too! The service was on point; our waitress came back to check on us a few times and refilled out coffee...that was true service with a smile! We will definitely go back again! 4 stars

Absolute best breakfast on the Cape. Try the peanut butter pancakes l, you will no be upset you did. Very friendly staff, in terms of pricing we walked out two drinks and two plates of pancakes for under $30. It was a great time. A bit noisy but perfect none the less.

Quick and friendly service, but not very attentive. Chocolate chip pancakes were good. Loud inside as there were tons of people.

Ate there on 8/29/15. Cold scrambled eggs & bacon. Obviously not made to order. My guess already pre-made sitting around in a cold chaffing dish. I'm aware bacon is pre cooked at least heat it up. Also $2.50 for a cup of coffee, C'mon! Not impressed.

Breakfast was great today! Omelette was cooked perfect and had good spices. Do recommend!

I am leaving the restaurant as I write this. This was the worst restaurant I've been to. I ordered a chocolate milk, which when I got, was warm, and tasted as if it was left out for hours before being served to me. I then continued to order apple juice, which, was ridiculously overpriced. We also ordered an orange juice which was $4.69??? Our server, Hayli, kept hovering over us as we ate, making our breakfast extremely uncomfortable. As our breakfast went on, I ordered a sausage and cheese omelette that came with 3 pancakes. They didn't ask what cheese that we wanted, and when I got it, I found pieces of onion in it. That was a gross surprise. My brother also ordered a side of bacon with his pancakes, it was $4.50 for 2 pieces of burnt bacon!! The only reason I gave it two stars was the fast seating, where we only had to wait half the time it took to get our food to the table. Would not recommend, stay far away!!!

Love this place. It is a throw back place to the Cape Cod of my youth. Miss the bacon pancakes that they used to have a while ago. Of course get the pancakes especially the banana walnut one.

Good breakfast spot in a great location. Veggie and cheese omelet was excellent, veggies were scrambled into egg and cheese had great flavor. Pancakes were just alright as well as the potato pancakes, lacking flavor. Sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin was the best ever. Two eggs, large English muffin, great sausage. Good iced coffee. The interior of the restaurant was dirty, carpet was filthy, plastic glass had big chip missing from the edge. Waitress was very nice and food came fast. Quality of food was excellent compared to restaurant looks. Chairs and tables are old and decrepit, probably original. Long line when we left going into parking lot.

I've been driving by this place for years when visiting my family on Cape Cod but finally went in to try it last week after that stupid radio jingle got the best of me. To be honest, I didn't expect much. The place is called "The Pancake Man"; how sophisticated could the menu be? But pancakes are an easy classic, and the Pancake Man does them well. I went in with a friend late on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away. The tables are kind of close together and the party sitting immediately to my left was spread all over the place with bags, sweatshirts, and sun hats, so I felt pretty cramped. I ordered the banana walnut pancakes and my friend got the veggie omelette. Our meals came out quickly and hot. My pancakes were larger than expected-- taking up almost the whole plate-- and fairly light, with banana baked in and a mixture of fruit and walnuts on top. They were very good. My friend devoured the omelette and toast, but left most of the home fries which he said were heavy, especially after eating two slices of toast. Our server Haley was attentive and sweet. She kept our waters full and didn't give us attitude when we declined coffee or other drinks, unlike at other breakfast restaurants I've been to on the Cape. Our meals were priced fairly ($8-9.50) for how much food we got; drinks were very expensive, though ($2.50+ for coffee drinks, $3.50+ for OJ) , which is why we stuck with water. All-in-all, a fine experience. If that jingle gets stuck in my head ahead and I'm craving pancakes, I may be back.

I could not believe the higher ratings for this place. It was by far the worst breakfast experience ever. We were a party of five arriving at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, last week of August. Not busy. Seated right away and that was the highlight. The waitress did not know the ingredients of their signature waffle specials. Was the chocolate waffle made with chocolate inside the waffle or on top? "Not sure" was the answer. Is the French toast thick or thin? "Thin, I think?" She said. Okaaaay... Then the meals arrived. Eggs Benedict, ice cold on top of a practically raw English muffin. Two eggs that were ordered over medium, came out over easy, barely cooked. French toast by the way, thin, soggy and cold. Finally waitress never asked if any of us wanted more coffee. How does a place that specializes in breakfast stay open when they can't cook an egg right? Don't waste your time or money. Go to Dunkin Donuts. The Pancake Man is horrendous.

My family and I were visiting the Cape from Rhode Island. The food was good and the service was decent. The prices were a bit high, but the portions were large. Our coffees were $2.25, but they were refilled for free. Still, I only had one cup. :( Anyway, the staff was friendly.

This place is fantastic, one of the places you must try for breakfast. The decor definitely needs a look at, since the floors are dirty, the chairs are old, and there needs to be something that separates the ambiance from other restaurants. This may be difficult though because the restaurants is so large, with a huge dining room and a side room. Regardless, there is still a wait later in the morning. Service was quite good, a bit disorganized due to the amount of staff and tables, but they were very professional. Their dishwasher must not have functioned the night before because two of our coffee cups were dirty, one of them having lipstick on them. The menu is shown on the placemats. It has the basics, but other breakfast enhancers are evident. Their pancakes are definitely worth trying. Try them with chocolate chips or strawberries, both are delicious. Make sure to try their omelets, all of which sound really interesting. Overall, one of the better breakfast options on the Cape.

Not bad, but not great. Think Bickfords and your expectations will be met. My family each ordered pancakes, and they were all very good. Service was fine. The price is high for what it is, over $45....coffee is $2.50 a cup. Really? Really.

This place is great! I visited the pancake man last year with my boyfriend and ever since then I've been dying to come back. This time around did not disappoint. Service was excellent. We were seated right away and our waitress was very attentive. We sat, placed our order and finished our meal in 30 minutes. We ordered the cinnful pancakes and the potato pancakes. The potato pancakes were made absolutely perfectly!! We opted not to get any sides because the portion of pancakes is perfect. Last year we ordered the pancakes, eggs, bacon and linguica and from what I remember from last year, the portion size of the linguica and bacon wasn't worth the money. This restaurant is a must if you're in the mood for some tasty and flavorful pancakes!

Saw this on Yelp and had to try it. You get so much food for dollar. I got the Strawberry Pancakes which includes 5 pancakes and it was so filling. My husband got the Cinnful pancakes and it tasted delish. Definitely worth trying. You will leave stuffed.....trust us!

Not very good at all. Great service and staff, but the food was blah... pancakes were very boring- especially for a restaurant with the name Pancake Man. Will never go back and sad we wasted a meal here. Corned Beef & Hash tasted fishy, the eggs were bland. Toast was yummy with prepackaged Smuckers strawberry jam.

Well, what can I say that was good about this restaurant, frankly not a lot. You're unable to substitute any thing on the menu. The food is marginal at best. The prices are crazy. A breakfast for two which would have usually been about $20 at most was over $30, which wouldn't have been really bad if the food was inline with the price which it was not. Oh yeah, the sign was cool. See I did find something positive to say. The service was good but we were only two of the eight people in the entire place.

Why everybody gotta hate on tha Pancake Man?! Over the past few years, we've grown to love this place, and it's become part of our yearly tradition whenever we come to the Cape. Incredible location for families, so you won't be on edge if you sit down with a bunch of kids. If people happen to give you a stink eye....F#*% them, they're eating at a place called Pancake Man! Seriously though, it's a good spot. Great 'cakes to choose from, and the service is usually lightening fast. We were in and out in 25 minutes this morning. I'm still bloated as I write this, but I loved every minute of it. One note of caution - try to get there early because it tends to get VERY crowded around 9:30am, especially during the summer peak season.

Came in with a party of 5 including a child. We were seated right away. To start, the coffee was terrible. Food was ok. Definitely not worth returning to for breakfast. Boyfriend and I shared the Mexican omelette with a side of pancakes and home fries. Omelette was ok. Asked for sour cream and guacamole on the side and when the waitress brought us sour cream and salsa on the side had to ask again for the guacamole. She returned without the guacamole but with more salsa? Confused maybe...not sure. Kids got a skillet with all sorts of meat, regular pancakes and the peanut butter pancakes. Pancakes were nothing special....maybe I was expecting more seeing as the restaurant is called The Pancake Man? The skillet was super tasty. Homefries left a lot to be desired. At least they had three different kinds of hot sauce!

This was a cute little spot we stopped at waiting to take the next Ferry to Martha's Vineyard . I love the name of this place . It reminded me a bit of the Original Pancake House . Please go to their website to see the cute little song ! :) I ordered the Grilled cheese with tomato and spinach added . We were on the go , so I went light! It was delightful! Great coffee.!

Small convenient place. Perfect, quick breakfast for the family. Food was fast, but got the check so quick I didn't know how good the food was. Maybe our waitress was new and that's why she gave the check to us so soon. Regardless my girlfriend and I felt a little rushed. Overall convenient place, two and a half stars (even though you can only do full stars).

We visit this place for breakfast probably twice a year and it's never really bad but it's never really good either. This morning we decided it just isn't worth going anymore at all. The blueberry Waffle had less than half the usual blueberries and we had to ask for the syrup that is supposed to accompany it. The chef apparently forgot the mushrooms in my cheddar and mushroom omelet because they were just thrown on top; under the greasy potatoes I had asked them to omit and next to the White toast even though I had asked for pumpernickel. To put the icing on the cake, they were apparently short-staffed because the cashier that was taking the checks from everyone and handling money was delivering our food. Oh well.

2-words-"Tourist Trap". The classic radio jingle was cute 20-years ago, and the food was decent. Sadly, no longer the case for either. There are much better options for breakfast and lunch in the area (Route 28 Diner, Keltic Kitchen, Jack's Outback, and Big Al's, are among a few that come to mind).

Best buttermilk pancakes, sausage and bacon I've had in a LONG time. Coffee is very good as well! I am revising this to add that it was a bit on the expensive side, but worth it nonetheless. 'Nuff said!

Met a friend here for breakfast early on a Friday morning and had a great experience! We were seated right away and offered coffee. Our waitress was super friendly. My friend had the breakfast burger which he absolutely LOVED. I had traditional eggs benny (hollandaise on the side, of course). It was delish. Both dishes came with home fries, which were also good. This place is HUGE but as we were leaving around 10am the line was out the door - I guess it fills up fast. I only come to the cape once a year, but I would definitely revisit this place.

This is a great breakfast establishment. It was busy but we got seating pretty quickly. I had some sort of Mexican skillet egg dish and it was very good. It was probably the best thing that I've had for breakfast in a couple of years. The party that I was with had different varieties of pancakes and they were also very satisfied. The service was good and it is in a nice spot on the Cape. Moreover, the pricing is reasonable. I will definitely go back next year.

This is my second time here and the breakfast is blah. Breakfast should be easy to make and should taste good, but the food here wasn't as good as other places. The place is actually a little more money than other breakfast places I have been too and they give you less. I got a real simple dish or eggs, bacon and potato. They only give you 2 pieces of bacon and the potato was greasy. My husband got eggs Benedict and he didn't like it, he said the holandaise sauce wasn't very good. The waitress also dropped my toast but came to give me my plate then she touched my toast on my plate and said I will be back with some more, because she dropped one. It was like slow motion watching her touch the toast on my plate, I don't think she meant it but still i didn't eat that piece. She was also a little slow, I had to call her over for the check. We were on vacation, so I would probably try the other breakfast place down the road if I were to come back.

I'm going to start this review by stating that Mom and I look forward to having breakfast at The Pancake Man every summer. Unfortunately, today's visit fell flat for the very first time. Normally, our experience is great. We always have quick, friendly service and the food is always good. Our last visit to The Pancake Man was on Memorial Day. We stopped in for breakfast before heading down to the cemetery to visit with my late father and uncle. We were seated right away and our food was delivered at an appropriate time. Everything was perfect and we couldn't wait to go back. We decided to make a return visit on Memorial Day this year, but unfortunately the service was a bust. We pulled into the parking lot at around 10:45 a.m. and it was completely full. As I creeped around looking for anyone who might be pulling out, Mom spotted someone leaving and I zoomed in. So finding a parking spot only took about two minutes. As we walked toward the door, a line had formed on the entrance ramp. Worried that we were going to be waiting long, we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Fortunately, the line moved very quickly and we were seated within five minutes of parking the car. I'm going to guess that by the time our buns were in chairs, it was around 10:55 a.m. Busy as always, The Pancake Man was filled to capacity. Everyone was getting their pancakes on! Mom and I were seated by the door and very close to another table with two youngish men. Our waitress - who seemed completely overwhelmed in a "first job" or "first time working the holiday" kind of way - arrived to take our drink order. We both got hot coffee ($4.70 for both) and decided to get a half carafe of their famous freshly squeezed orange juice ($5.99). The waitress returned with the pot of coffee, but forgot the carafe. The coffee was actually very tasty but when she brought the carafe of juice to the table, she brought us two very hot glasses (perhaps they had just been washed in scalding water), so we had to wait until they cooled to pour in the OJ. When we did, we absolutely loved the taste. The Pancake Man has a great machine that squeezes all the oranges and the customers can watch the whole process. It's very cute, and I can see why people go nuts over freshly squeezed - it tastes a thousand times better than store bought. It was time to order. Mom chose the peanut butter cup pancakes ($7.99) and I ordered the red, white and blue French toast in honor of Memorial Day. The waitress informed me that there was no more blueberry French toast, so I went with an order of cranberry nut pancakes instead ($8.49). We also decided to split a side of bacon ($3.95). At the same time we ordered, the waitress took the order of the two dudes sitting on the side of us. After waiting a few minutes, the guys on the side - who had been looking at their watches the whole time - informed the waitress that they would have to take their food to go. One of them paid the check while their food was boxed up in the kitchen and brought out to them in a bag. The waitress apologized and the bill payer told her that the wait was a bit faster the day prior which is why they returned today. Apparently they had somewhere to be. After seeing the men leave with their to-go containers, Mom and I figured that our food - ordered at the same time as theirs - would be out shortly. We were wrong. The waitress kept coming over to assure us that she did put in our order, but we were getting frustrated because customers that had come in before and after us were already getting served. We ordered pancakes and a side of bacon - not that hard to prepare. In the eloquent words of my mother: "You flip them, you flop them, you put them on a plate ... what the hell is taking so long?" After ONE HOUR of waiting for pancakes, our food arrived. It was around 11:45 a.m. Ridiculous. I've never had to wait that long for pancakes in my life. Mom and I almost left the restaurant, but we were too invested. Mom's peanut butter cup pancakes (she'd gotten them before on other visits) were as good as she remembered. Topped with real whipped cream and lots of peanut butter and chocolate chips, she said that everything was fantastic. The meaty bacon was alsalso great and although it wasn't crisp, it had a nice smoky flavor. My pancakes were loaded with juicy cranberries, powdered sugar and crunchy walnuts. My pancakes perhaps could have used a bit more butter to moisten them up, but I tried to accomplish that using syrup. They were very tasty and extremely filling. During our meal, the waitress came over and said, "Was it worth waiting for?" I think Mom replied, "We almost left," to which the waitress replied, "I wouldn't have waited." Nice to know. Our total came to $33.30. Not good, Pancake Man. Please get it together, because we've always liked this place and we want to go again. However, we'll definitely be holding off for a while.

I love this place and can't understand the bad reviews. This is the third time I have come to this restaurant and will continue to come back on my future vacations. The servers are all friendly, check on you several times during the meal to see if you need anything else, and the food arrived promptly and is incredibly delicious. If you're looking for a great place to eat breakfast, specifically pancakes because that is all I have had, give this place a shot. You won't regret it!

Food was good but our waitress was horrible. she barely spoke English and messed up my order twice while barely apologizing for it. she put nuts on my pancakes when I never asked for them and when I sent them back they still had nuts on them when they were returned to me. the rest of my food was good but the service was just horrible.

I worked here 35 years ago and the food was great but our breakfast was lukewarm and unappealing. I had the corn beef hash and eggs...definitely from a can and soggy. The eggs were flavorless. My husband had corn beef hash omlet...they just dumped the corn beef in middle of a layer of eggs and rolled it crepe style...and again soggy. We could not finish food as it was gross. We live here year round and will never go there again.

The food is decent, I just love the name....how can you drive by a place called "The Pancake Man" and not eat there??? I am sure most of you reading this drove by and wondered the same thing, hence the yelp search... My advice? Marshlands in Sandwich has better breakfast if you want that cheap quaint atmosphere, but if you're around Hyannis, just drive 5 minutes and eat here.

  • Amanda S.

Don't let the fun colorful sign with the friendly "Pancake Man" fool you. The sign is probably the best thing The Pancake Man has going for it. We've come here for years, but the last couple of visits have been a bust and this was our last trip, for sure. The issues included: a visibly irritated host when we asked for a table that wasn't in direct sunlight, lousy food (bland, eggs not cooked correctly, cold, greasy and salty), and over-priced (breakfast for 3 with a side of bacon and an English muffin was $50). Oh, and no substitutions allowed on their menu. Staff were generally miserable and I would argue they are not incredibly family-friendly. The Pancake Man should be ashamed to have his name attached to this place! Piccadilly Deli is a million times better than this place, and close by- go there and enjoy the extra jingle in your pocket afterwards!

2 words: Tourist. Trap. That's all this place is. Extremely expensive for sub-par breakfast food. Up charges for everything. Make your way down rt 28 either towards Dennis or Hyannis and you'll find much better and more quality places to have breakfast.

BREAKFAST: Location: 4* easy to find, plenty of parking, large facility. Service: 2* friendly, but got out orders wrong for 2/4 orders. Didn't bring a dish but charged us for it. When we caught the error in the bill, they tried to give us a mug instead of a refund. Food: 2.5* average food for costly price. Freshly squeezed OJ sweetened too much. Food jam packed onto small plates, making it difficult to eat. Eggs over easy cooked properly but they got my order wrong. Hash browns had strange burnt bits taste, was over salted and had too much paprika. Pumpernickel bread average. Bacon nice slice thickness and cooked well. Pancakes and waffles nicely sized. Strawberry topping a bit sweet. Scrambled eggs and ham average. So for the cost, the taste and value fall short.

The pancakes are good, not great but good. The service is good. The one thing I didn't like about this place is the "cook" will not let you substitute anything. I thought not only is that strange but rude. If I am a paying customer, like I am, and I want a egg cooked a certain way I don't think that is too much to ask? Oh well getting back to the food I order blueberry pancakes and a side of home fries, like I stated earlier the pancakes were good but the home fries I didn't care for. They were bland and too oily. If in the area again and really wanted pancakes I might give them another shot.

And the "WORST Bloody Mary ever" award goes to..... The only thing that saved this from being 1 star was the uniqueness of their breakfast nachos.

Admittedly, we set ourselves up for disappointment, but who in their right mind can pass up a place called The Pancake Man? We weren't even hungry. But we decided to give him a flip. Like a supersize Denny's, The cavernous, fluorescent griddle mecca struck me with a sensationally caricatured feeling of ubertourism. Placemat menus listed a plethora of pancakes and some other shit, but let's be real for 12.6 seconds: if you're not ordering the pancakes, then you're spitting in the face of the Man himself. Skip the eggs, Betty. Her blueberry blueberry blueberry (that's inside, on top and syrup) flapjacks were impossible to finish at $8, and my latkes had the same qualities in a yang savory profile. The namesake cakes aren't great, but the service is fast and unobtrusive, the price-to-quality/quantity is fair and they serve Smucker's Apple Butter AND Peach Jam for chrissakes. Name another diner that boasts that trough of single-serve spreads? FInally, it must be said: bottomless coffee is standard, but free refills on sodas actually cost an extra 80¢ at ordering. Intriguing system. Pay it and load up. 2.5 stahs.

Now I'm not sure if that cute cartoon "Pancake Man" isn't really just the grim reaper in disguise.... To make a long story short, I got violently ill eating here. This one meal ruined three days of a four day vacation. I was in Cape Cod for a four day pleasure retreat. I planned on a lot of swimming and fun in the sun. The very first morning was delightful. Had a nice swim in the salty ocean, a dip in the pool, and a nice quick nap. Then I got hungry (I should have just eaten at the hotel) and The Pancake Man caught my attention as a nice breakfast place. The wait was long, the chairs were small (meant for little boys), and the table was sticky with old syrup. Obviously I ordered quite a lot of pancakes. I really wanted to make my meal worth the long wait. The pancakes were decent. Nothing to rave about. That afternoon... It hit me. I was happily wading in the ocean, when I started feeling nauseous. I had the feeling I should lie down. I went back to my room and plopped into the bed. After about an hour of rolling around for a comfortable position, I soon found myself rushing to the bathroom to vomit. That was pretty much the next two days of my trip. It was all vomiting and diarrhea. THANKS PANCAKE MAN!

Long line, mediocre food, slow service, expensive prices. Not worth the effort... If you call yourself the pancake man you better have damn good pancakes. The hash came out of a can, barely cooked, the hollandaise sauce looked something someone squeezed out of a bag, the eggs were over cooked, and the pancakes were just ok. No thanks, I'll go somewhere else.

First of all, I'm a food snob, and I appreciate fresh healthy produce over refined flour and sugar. That being said, my favorite part about the Pancake Man was the carafe of fresh squeezed OJ. However, I was hungry so I had to make do. I wanted a chocolate pancake, but they only had chocolate waffles. Fine. I got that with cherry compote...disappointment! Waffle had no chocolate flavor, but just looked more tan than normal. And the cherry compote just didn't taste good. I hardly ate any and was still fully charged for it. Oh well. I won't frequent this place again so it's fine. I picked off my party's plate, and I have to say the potatoes were good. I think everyone was happy with their respective orders...so if you're a food snob like me, I wouldn't go here.

First off, the coffee here is among the best I've ever had. Very smooth, not the least bit bitter. I don't usually have a second cup but here I do. Last time I had their blueberry pancakes but this time I was determined to try their French toast, specifically their Red, White & Blue French toast. But the waitress suggested one of their specials - Gingerbread French toast, with apples. I was sold. She asked if I wanted whipped cream and when I hesitated she suggested having it on the side. Which turned out to be a good call. The whipped cream was really good and this way I got to have some with nearly every bite instead of having it melt all over after the first few bites. Great food, great service and great coffee. What more could you ask?

First of all there was arrogant a graying female that must have been the manager. It was almost like she felt as though she was doing us a favor by letting us eat there. They would not let us split a check between the families.....ok fine. Not sure what other code of customer conduct they would have held us to??? I had the potato pancakes and was happy with them. The wife had strawberry cakes and the kids had chocolate chip cakes. The fresh squeezed OJ was $$ but that is to be expected. IMO, it was not necessary as concentrate is fine by me. The only thing that might stop me from going back is the pancake-nazi lol. But in all honesty that probably won't deter me, I will go back. I will treat her more like an icon of the place and use her for a quick bit of humor. Like, "hey, there she is, sit up straight". A lot of people seem to bash the food. I can only speak on the cakes but I have had far less of a pancake in local dives here in Connecticut.

Not a very good breakfast experience. We waited 20 to 25 minutes or so, which wasn't too bad, but there was no name list, just had to wait in line. I wanted a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon with toast. I requested the eggs not be made with added milk. What was served was a watery scrambled egg that obviously had milk added. When I sent it back I was shockingly told it was impossible to make scrambled eggs without milk. Out of the five meals served at our table the only good item was the sinful pancakes.

My first impression was early morning no caffeine and hungry. After a cup of coffee and a very filling breakfast I would say this place has good food at prices you would expect to pay in the area. My husband and I both got the meat lovers skillet filled with meat which we both couldn't finish. The menu says no substitutes please and I would have enjoyed another cheese option over American but I also didn't bother asking to see how strict their policy was. My son got the kids French toast which he enjoyed. I'm still surprised the pancakes and French toast don't come with a side of meat or at least the kids meal with a drink but as my husband said this isn't Denny's or friendly and we don't eat a lot of breakfasts out. Our bill was almost as much as an equally filling meal at seafood SAMs filled with seafood entrees and soups so to me this wasn't the best value. Service was excellent and the place was packed by the time we left at 8:30am.

My friend and our two children enjoyed a meal at this restaurant just recently. We were kind of iffy about going because we had heard from other patrons that the food was awful and expensive.. they all hadn't been there in years do to it. We had also heard they had changed cooks and staff in the recent years so we hoped it meant something good would come out of going there. First let me start by saying we went after the morning rush and before the lunch rush, the atmosphere was really relaxing, quiet and friendly. The hostess was overly friendly when she greeted us at the door, almost too bubbly it was really odd. Our waitress shayla (might not be spelt correct) was awesome. She had great patience and was attentive to our needs. She didn't even become annoyed by our loud and sometime obnoxious children. She took great care of us so that we didn't feel like we were there for too long or rushed out. The food was better than I anticipated after all the negative talk. The eggs were okay.. kind of weird textured and I am picky about my eggs but at least they weren't 'wet'. I hate wet eggs. Bacon was cooked perfectly, my sons pancake was perfect although I think like many other places people should create a little people's menu because most of the kids dishes went to waste as neither of them eat enough to come close to finishing. My French toast was yummy and I even brought some home and ate it later and it wasn't yucky after reheating. My only complaint would be that my lemons in my water had some weird slime on them. They were fresh, tasted fine but the weird unnatural slick to it was gross. My friends meal was good enough she finished all it. I would have rather the kids drinks already come in a kid cup then pouring them myself but other than that, I was blown away considering I expected bad quality food. It was still expensive considering for all we did get we have paid $20 less somewhere else.. just a few days before. But I would go back again.. as long as who ever cooked my meal cooked it again. Definitely recommend shayla as your waitress as well.

Let's just set the scene here for all, it's summer, an hour before we go to the beach, Anne and Fran's is packed. We go with everyone's suggestion, Pancakeman. I seem to have forgotten that all the people that recommended this place were coming off an all night binge and well, you all get what I mean. Now this was our last full day here and we were geared up for breakfast, beach time and some chill time at night. Thanks to Pancakeman though my wife spent it sick as a dog in bed. The food: the skillet was awful. Bland eggs, soggy veggies, bitter potatoes and bland cheese. The bacon cheese omelet was dry with bacon overkill. The potatoes tasted like baby puke. If there was one good thing, the coffee was good and the waitress was very nice. If you are coming off a drunk night, this place is the place to go. Don't go without a hangover.

The name is what brought us in. Service was just eh. And the food...I ordered the cranberry nut pancakes. There were more nuts and berries on the side of the plate than there were in the actual pancakes. Perhaps they should have put them in the batter instead. Hubby ordered the hash and eggs. He wanted the pancakes with it but she only asked what toast he wanted so he thought he was getting pancakes and toast. We called her back to correct it. Anyway, the hash was definitely out of a can, much too salty and a bad aftertaste. The pancakes were decent but I feel that everything was overpriced. $8.49 for 4 pancakes. No sides included. I did order a side of bacon which was ok but would have been better if they'd drained the grease off first, especially at $3.95 for 3 slices. Don't think we'll bother coming here next time we're in the area.

This place ROCKS!! They're super busy but super quick and the food is just awesome. I love their pancakes and their carafe of peach juice!! Just go here!!! I don't know what people were talking about how this place is for hung over folks because when you're up early enough and go, everything is A-OK. You'll love it.

Dear Kevin, I asked you how the breakfast buritto was... you said it was "just alright" and I said "Just alright!?" And then you said "well it's too big!" and I said "Bring it on." And bring it on is what you did. Not only did eat the entire thing... but I took into overtime and ate a good part of my friend's breakfasts. I was hungry. Too big my ass, Kevin. Too big my ass.... Love, Mimi Hamburger (Kevin was out server and he was a delight!) The food was good! Pancakes were awesome! My buritto was fantastic! Tried my friends crossant sandwhich... it was A+. There was a 15min wait but it was worth it! Want to come back again to try the breakfast nachos! I'm only giving this 4 stars because 2 weeks before this I had a breakfast that was unbeatable in RI... if I had never eaten said breakfast this place would of gotten 5 stars.

I was caught by the gimmick. The cartoon on the website. The cute name but this is a pass. The staff was NOT helpful. They will not customize any order to your liking. If something comes with scrambled eggs and you want them over easy. They look at you like you are insane. I had to change my order 2 times. Then when the food got to us it really wasn't that good. Well everything besides the pb pancakes. That was good but really, can that be bad?

The food here was awesome!! The fresh squeezed orange juice was outrageously priced. The omlettes and pancakes were amazing. The wait staff girls were super polite considering they were working for a tyrant that was yelling at them to stop chit chatting for the whole place to hear.

The Pancake Man is awesome. I have been coming here for years. While I sit here looking at other reviews I am wondering if people truly understand food service. I have seen complaints about long waits, no substitutions, and bad food prices. When you think about everything I think I can make it all make sense. Long waits- The staff tries to seat you with in a few minutes of a table leaving. The lines are out the door, and staff continues to seat as soon as there is a table available. No Substitution- If substations were allowed then you would end up waiting longer for your table and food. The cooks in this fast paced restaurant need to get quality food out to tables quickly. Food prices- The amount of food here is worth the price. The OJ...well that is fresh squeezed. Complaining about where you were sat in the restaurant..When it is busy they seat you where the table has become available. When it isn't busy the host staff is trying to make sure waitress sections are fair and everyone is waiting on a table. The food here is great, the servers are wonderful and do what they can to make sure you have a excellent experience. The wait at the door is not all that long. And worth the wait. Take the time and check it out. I think most of the negativity comes from negative people. Enjoy! Hope this was helpful!

Hardly a wait even though there was a line when we walked in on a Wednesday morning. Our server was charming. The star of the show here is obviously the pancakes. My boyfriend got the peanut butter cup pancakes which were absolutely delicious. Another friend got the blueberry pancakes which also seemed good. The rest of our table ordered the egg skillets. All of them were good but not great. Our friend's "yogurt and granola" skillet somehow came out 20 minutes after the rest of ours even though no cooking was required, which seemed really unprofessional. The waitress also asked her what kind of eggs she wanted, but no eggs were with her breakfast when it finally arrived. It left a rather bad taste in my mouth about this place. That being said, I would definitely come back but only for pancakes.

Went there twice now. Once was ok and once was bad. Overcooks eggs, pancakes tasted funny and home fries were just average. This place is mostly attractive for its name

  • Bethany B.

I have to believe that people pack this place for nostalgic reasons because the food here is not great. All of the fruit toppings listed for the waffles & pancakes are drowning in juice because they are defrosted fruit :( . My waffle was tasty where the soggy strawberries hadn't ruined it so I got 6 bites in for my eight dollars. The spinach eggs bennie looked watery & Mr Bethany's eggs & sausage were barely room temp. Go to Grumpy's in West Dennis.... there's a line out the door there too, but for good reason.

Overpriced, below average food, service was rushed. We frequent the cape and can think of a half dozen places better than Pancake Man for breakfast. I can only guess that fans of this place just dont get out that much for breakfast. They dont realize how much better it could be. The menu is restrictive and overpriced. If you want eggs, pancakes and meat - they got that. But want to switch it to french toast? Well that requires two separate orders - and about five dollars more. We asked to have choc chips added into the kids pancakes - an extra $1.50 per order. Pancakes seemed just average, french toast was uninspired (and SEVEN frickin dollars without any sides added). The sausage was cooked till it was brittle and the eggs were watery and flavorless. As other people have said: coffee is very weak, kinda like drinking tea. Our waitress was to the point but not cozy or welcoming. Wasnt sorry when she made a couple mistakes with our order.

    (2)

Over crowded and over rated. The pancakes are okay, the eggs are good but the home fries taste like over seasoned shake and bake. I'd check out one of the smaller breakfast places in the area.

We loved it. We went 2 mornings on our vacation. The coffee here was awesome, I couldn't get enough. We had great service, all the ladies working as a team, making sure everybody was "all set". We had plenty of food, eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon, the works. It was all good. We will eat here again when we go back to the Cape.

Ive been here a few times, usually when we're looking for a little booze with our breakfast or if the lines are Keltic Kitchen or the Breakfast Room are too long. It's your classic dumpy dirty diner with grumpy waitstaff. There's usually no wait and they serve booze, they got one star for each. The food is bland and over priced. There are a million places like this all over the cape, why waste your time?

    (2)

Had always loved this place for breakfast when on the cape. This time, poor service, restaurant was dirty, wait staff was rushed & like we didn't matter. Then the icing, I found hair in my pancakes. Not on my pancake but in the pancake. Can't get passed that. Will find a new breakfast place for sure,

I had been here years ago, but couldn't recall my experience. This time I will make sure it is documented. First off, for a place called the Pancake Man, the pancakes weren't all that great. The tables weren't clean, I kept rubbing syrup off my elbows and fingers. The waitress could have been better too. The menu is limited, and pricey. No substitutions I was told. However the eggs were good, the applewood smoked bacon was great, and the french toast my girlfriend got was excellent. I wish I had ordered french toast.

Well, I like pancakes but not loads of pancakes. That's why I got a simple platter of eggs, ham, and a couple of pancakes. My sister and dad got the big platter with a stack of pancakes which they could not finish. Overall, don't get crazy over the pancakes or you will be overwhelmed with it. Moderate is the key... No complaints from me except from my sister who felt a big overwhelmed with the pancakes. Plus, the size of her Spanish omelette was gigantic. She ended up sharing it with my mom.

First and last visit here! Very disappointing. Kids got Peanut Butter Cup pancakes. Sounds yummy right? Wrong. No flavor and very dry and definitely skimped on the peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. I had the Irish Eggs Benedict. Way too much hash, and it was definitely canned and not homemade. Big pile of mush. The eggs were so over done they may have been hard boiled. There was barely any hollandaise sauce and when I asked for more they charged me $2.50 for a small saucer that barely held any sauce. Hubby had the ham, Swiss, and mushroom quiche. It was edible. Everything was overpriced. $2.50 for a kids milk, $2.50 for sm juice, $5 for the kids gross pancakes, $3 for a coissant, $10 for my dog food, and $9 for hubby's quiche. Our bill came to $45. If the food had been worth it I wouldn't complain. But at these prices we should be walking out raving about the food. To to it off, the woman at the front counter and our server had the personalities of shoes! Should have gone to Piccadilly's!

We were told there was a 15min wait to eat the, wait for it, "THE BEST BREAKFAST OF YOUR LIFE." Hell, the 15min I can wait with a claim like that. Too bad it didn't really deliver. I got the croissant breakfast sandwich. It was good, but I definitely can say that it was NOT the best breakfast of my life.

This place has tourist trap written all over it and being tourists, we decided to try it for breakfast. The outside of the place is in serious need of a makeover, especially the sign. The interior of the place is fairly large but noticeably has quite the hodge-podge of artifacts decorating the place. Whatever, the place seemed clean enough so on to the food. We got a typical breakfast of eggs, hash browns, meat, toast and coffee. The eggs were fine. Hash browns were a pretty disgustingly congealed, slimy, brown mess (made with red bliss potatoes and onions). Bacon was supposed to be 3 THICK slices. The bacon slices were just typical thickness so no points for false advertising. As someone who enjoys a good cup of joe I have to say that the coffee was absolutely horrible. It tasted like it had been steeping for hours and had a burnt/day old coffee flavor. Overall I would say that the food is just passable, especially considering that you can expect to pay about $25(not including tip) for breakfast for two for just the basics (eggs, hash browns, meat and coffee), which is steep for what I'm used to. Service was friendly if not a bit on the slow side. Basically, this place is a belly filler breakfast joint. Some people commented how great the food is here, which I have to tell you makes me scratch my head. A couple of others commented that it is not a gourmet joint - that's an understatement. Do not expect to be wowed by the food or the service.

The french toast, eggs, & bacon were all super delicious! I loved eating there. The coffee was also yummy. Our waiter was really friendly, as was the cashier. The restaurant is definitely a family friendly (not romantic) place.

If only it were possible to order everything on the menu. That is how I felt while staring at the menu. Everything looked good at the tables around us and the descriptions were mouthwatering. And they serve alcohol. Done and done.

  • Ray G.

I ate here last month and was a little disappointed. The pancakes I ordered were good but the sausages were cold and had a bad after taste. It also seemed to take a long time to get food even though there were many empty tables. I would try eating here again, only to see if it gets any better.

Pancakes were delicious, the manager was rude when we asked them to turn down the air conditioner. The waitress we had today was very good. Overall the food is overpriced for breakfast. But they do have fresh squeezed OJ for an arm and leg. When we got there there was a long line but it moved very quickly.

  • Tommy M.

Good food but lousy service. After declining coffee, my drink order was taken with my food order after my companion had already drank almost a whole cup of coffee. Also, he started looking at the back of the placemat/menu she told us that side was for kids. Well, after she took our order, (I ordered water for a beverage btw) I flipped the menu over to to see kids menu. Surprize! That is also where the mixed drink menu, the gourmet coffee menu and some lunch items were. Oh, and don't bother ordering a bloody mary as it weak and half the glass was filled with a pickle.

  • Grace M.

I really have no idea why people continue to go here in droves when there are SO many great breakfast options on the Cape. It boggles the mind. It's very touristy and there is nothing special about it. Going here is like going to Olive Garden when you are in Italy because you don't know any better.

    (2)
  • Dave U.

Let's be honest you've got to come here for the namesake item, the pancakes. They've got something for everybody- chocolate chip, blueberry, apple cinnamon, even peanut butter cup. For all you pancake purists like myself, go with buttermilk, the man doesn't disappoint. They're so good, load up with butter and syrup, the ultimate breakfast comfort food. Extra star for their old commercial, which was arguably the best jingle in advertising. I also love the fact that they stress the beer is ice cold on the menu.

Growing up in Yarmouth, I was never enticed to enter this breakfast restaurant/ lounge complete with fluorescent beer signs adorning the front windows. However, the curse of the out-of-town guest befell me and I was forced to have my worst fears realized via disappointing breakfast. My sunnyside eggs were greasy and overdone around the edges, which doubles as an adequate description for how I feel about this place overall. Dirty untensils, slow service and exorbitant prices for what it is. Rt. 28 in Yarmouth is a breakfast Mecca. Skip the Pancake Man.

Huge menu. Good eats - I had the vegetable omelette. Kids had pancakes - fantastic. Hence Pancake Man. Husband had corned beef hash - dry, not so good. Only bad thing was the coffee, it was really weak. Waitstaff super friendly and fast.

  • Ryan H.

This is a grubby little breakfast diner in a prime location on Route 28 in Yarmouth. The cartoon "Pancake Man" on the sign is old and creepy. Don't go here expecting the gourmet by any stretch. The pancakes are good enough. Actually, they tasted great, but that's probably more to do with being blinded by hunger at the time. The apple cinnamon pancakes had chunks of apple in them, as well as an apple topping, and supposedly an apple syrup, which we did not receive. The strawberry pancakes were plain 'cakes with a fresh strawberry topping. The corned beef hash looked like it was dumped haphazardly out of a can onto a saucer, but who cares. It's corned beef hash. Coffee was not disgusting. Totally serviceable breakfast place to get your chow on before a long day of putting at Pirate's Cove.

I have come to the Cape many years in a row, and have a set of favorites that I visit again and again. This is at the top of my list. I was on the Cape for 9 days this year, and came here three times. Apple Pancakes are just incredible, but if you ask nicely they will make you Red, White and Blue Pancakes (they usually only offer this option for French Toast). Yes, it's hokey and touristy, but very good.

Went for breakfast on a rainy morning. I ordered pancakes and eggs, while the kids had specialty pancakes (peanut butter for one, choc chip for the other). My wife had whole wheat French toast. Portions were large and food was tasty. Not spectacular but good for a family breakfast place. They seated us quickly despite a long line. Overall, solid choice that hit the spot for us.

This place has tired food. It was very heavy and somewhat greasy, especially the skillet dishes. It scored some points with its kitschy atmosphere but not enough to warrant a return visit. I wanted it to be better, but unfortunately it fell short.

This is my favorite part of leaving the Cape! Usually it's depressing knowing vacation is over but going to the Pancake man makes everything better! It's usually really crowded but it is So worth it!! The pancakes are so good along with their sausage, eggs, bacon..I'm making myself hungry! You don't know what you're missing if you don't go to the Pancake Man!

Our first breakfast experience on our recent Cape vacation. Getting there early was a bonus as there was no wait. My breakfast sandwich was a bit soggy and the home fries tasted like vinegar ehh! My husband enjoyed his blueberry pancakes. My kids both got kids menu pancakes and were pleased. All in all the prices were excessive for the quality and quantities. The service was blah. A younger girl who seemed hungover and uninterested at best. The atmosphere/decor outdated. Seemed like lots of early morning patrons who stared at us the whole time eventhough my children were very well behaved. Recommend the Rt. 28 Diner HANDS DOWN over this joint!!!

There is something about the ticky, tacky tourist look to this place that just calls you in. My son and I went on Saturday around 8:40. No problem parking, no lines, quite a few tables open. By 9:10, there was a line outside the door. My son ordered chocolate chip pancakes and was served blueberry, however, he had the correct pancakes within minutes by our very friendly waitress. My buttermilk pancakes with a side of crispy bacon were excellent. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and also excellent. My expectations for this restaurant were low, but we really enjoyed our experience here. We will definitely be back!

Oh, Pancake Man-your restaurant is our last stop before heading back into the city after a weekend of abusing our livers. You help us soak up the beer left in our tummies with delicious red bliss potato home fries, tasty corned beef hash, fluffy pancakes, odd omelets with the guts on the outside, and you wake us up with delicious coffee. The interior is kinda weird decor-wise. Why is there a Budweiser mirror with a map of Ireland on it? Or what about the Titanic poster? Has that just been there since that movie came out? I am confused, but I can over look it. The prices are decent, and I'd stick with the basics-don't adventure to the world of breakfast nachos, and don't order the Mexican omelet unless you want to be fart central.

Pancake Man is a great place for families and large parties due to the size of the restaurant. They serve your traditional run of the mill Cape style breakfast fast and friendly. The coffee is good and the wait staff is attentive. This place usually serves as my backup when my other favorite breakfast joints are too busy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Ah, Pancake Man. I grew up on Cape Cod, and this was always a tourist place to me when I was a kid, but we went if people were in town visiting. It is a tradition. I went back this past summer with some friends, and waited in line on the weekend to get in. The food is average, but easily rivals IHOP. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly, if busy. Pancake Man closes for the season, so if you're on the Cape in the winter you're out of luck.

For some reason, this place used to F A S C I N A T E me when I was a little kid. I don't have any childhood memories of dining there but I do remember the building and the sign. The Pancake Man is family friendly and is always packed in the mornings during the summer. They have all sorts of pancakes on the menu. Think IHOP, but with more of a mom& pop feel. Service here is usually a bit harried and rushed.

Our families favorite breakfast stop. I get the Western Omlette and the wife and kids get the pancakes and/or french toast and/or waffles. My wife loves the way they make their pancakes. She says it has a "grittyness" to it, like corn bread. My omlette comes with plenty of green peppers, onions and ham and plenty of fried potatoes.

I recently stayed in Cape Cod with a family that has been going there every year for about twenty years. Before I even got there I had already been told that I MUST go to Pancake Man, for whatever reason. Basically the place has been there for years and that means something to people, especially to children that have grown up going to Cape Cod and loving going to the same places. "It's Tradition!" Well that doesn't make the food great, does it? No, but thats okay because the food is GOOD ENOUGH. They offer the standard breakfast fare, pancakes (they better!), bacon and eggs, waffles (some with fresh fruit), etc... The portions are perfect and each meal includes a bottomless cup of local coffee, which is great. Like many of the service workers I encountered during my stay on The Cape, our waitress was from over seas, Russia in this case. However all of the workers I met spoke English fluently, and their accents aren't too strong. They are also very polite and prompt. Bottomline: The Pancake Man is always busy, and for a reason. The food isn't "knock your socks off" spectacular but it is enjoyable and the service is super. I will definitely eat there again next year.

Service was quick even on a Saturday morning. My pancakes were really bad tasting. I ordered the strawberry pancakes with blueberries, originally $7.99. The blueberries were warm and had no flavor. I was charged $4.49 for the strawberries on top. My pancakes alone ended up costing almost $15 and tasted like nothing! I would never return or recommend this place to anyone.

yet another breakfast place I frequent while at the cape in the summer. so many pancakes, so little time to try them all!!! I especially love the pancakes with maine blueberries, heaven!!! fast service. usually long line to wait in for a table. coffee is good too!

It's like a Dennys/Friendlys diner, just filled with tourists. The pancakes are better than the waffles and I always bring my own maple syrup (totally worth it). Sausages and bacon side orders are good. My fiance says their egg white omelettes are great. It satisfies your hungry belly in the morning, but it's not gourmet food or anything. Expect to wait in line during the tourist-y times. For example, I was there this morning, and it's July 4. Parking can be tough during peak breakfast times.

I really like Pancake Man. I went there twice during a vaca to the Cape. My BF got the breakfast nachos which was about 3000 calories; he liked them but he "tasted them all day" LOL. Both times I got pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was delicious, as was everything else. I read another review and laughed about the comment about the map of Ireland with Budweiser on it, my BF pointed that out too. It's a little odd, but who cares...it's a breakfast joint and the food's great!

    (2)
  • Dennis A.

Over crowded and over rated. The pancakes are okay, the eggs are good but the home fries taste like over seasoned shake and bake. I'd check out one of the smaller breakfast places in the area.

  • Jeanne R.

    (2)
  • Holly P.

  • Phillip Y.

I really have no idea why people continue to go here in droves when there are SO many great breakfast options on the Cape. It boggles the mind. It's very touristy and there is nothing special about it. Going here is like going to Olive Garden when you are in Italy because you don't know any better.

It was a nice place for some breakfast, but the coffee was terrible. Food was good, clean, and timely. I like that I could by the newspaper at the cashier. I eggs, linguica, and mash were all right.

    (3)
  • Mark S.

Pancakes were delicious, the manager was rude when we asked them to turn down the air conditioner. The waitress we had today was very good. Overall the food is overpriced for breakfast. But they do have fresh squeezed OJ for an arm and leg. When we got there there was a long line but it moved very quickly.

  • Justin G.
